Learning disability is a type of medically approved analysis to ensure that the child meets certain standards set forth by the psychologists and the pediatricians.

A learning disorder is a category of disabilities that results from insufficient communication and academic ability.

A learning disorder includes a number of learning disabilities caused by insufficient academic or communication skills (Swanson, Harris 2013).

Dyslexia due to a low reading level, Dyscalculia due to a difficulty solving mathematical problems and Dysgraphia due to a reduced writing ability are three examples of learning disabilities.

Gadde 2013 states that disabilities have a major impact on the brains of people and can stop them from being able to find and handle information.

Learning disabilities can cause learning difficulties in people. This is because it slows down learning (Scanlon 2013.

Learning disabilities can cause problems for people trying to accomplish a task independently.

Famous individuals like George Washington and Sir Albert Einstein suffered from dyslexia, but they overcame it and were immortalized in world history. Thus, learning disability isn’t a sickness. It can sometimes prove to be strength (Kamhi-Catts 2013).

This essay will talk about the effects of learning disabilities in the daily life of a human being.

Here are some causes of disability

It is difficult to determine the exact cause of learning disabilities. This is because many cases are not clear (Mackelprang, Salsgiver 2016,).

There are common reasons that learning disabilities can occur.

These are:

Genetic Problem

Sometimes the family can cause disability.

The family of a person with disability can have the same type of problem.

Some may have developmental disorders, which could lead to disability.Pregnancy Problem:

Disability can occur due to preterm birth, illness or alcohol consumption, as well as due to brain development anomalies.After Birth Accidents:

Children can suffer from head injuries, toxic reactions or malnutrition that can lead to more disability.

Human life after disability:

Persons with learning difficulties face many challenges throughout life.

These disabilities can cause problems in academic ability as well as social appearance.

Psychological differences affect how the cohorts perceive social indication (Hen, Goroshit 2014.

Persons with learning disabilities are not only faced with difficulties in distinguishing learning platforms, but also because they have to bear stigmatizing tags.

Because of limitations in the data collection methods and methodologies, it can be difficult to determine whether the services offered for special education are effective.

Geary (2013) said that students who have learning disabilities are subject to many outcomes because they lack understanding and functioning.

Low expectations from others are a factor in the decreased learning outcomes of these adolescents.

According to Emerson, McGill, and Mansell (2013), teachers expect less out of students with learning difficulties.

Research shows that students with positive learning skills have higher self-esteems than those with learning disabilities. Furthermore, studies show that students with lower learning ability have less self-esteem. This creates problems all through life.

If a person or an adolescent lacks self-esteem, they will face serious problems at every stage of their life. Because trust in oneself and the ability have faith to make major decisions are essential features of a person’s existence throughout their life.

The track record of those with learning disabilities has never been a bed made of roses. It is a bed filled with thrones.

Also, there is a problem with less education and employment of students or people who are learning disabled.

Sri Lanka amended a bill concerning the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities. This law states that such persons will have the right to decide, be employed and will receive vocational training (Geary 2013.

The diagnosis of learning disabilities is made by psychiatrists and psychologists, or an intelligence test of ability, presentation memory, thinking ability, social interactions, and language abilities.

The results of these tests will indicate whether or not the child has cognitive abilities.

The test results will determine if the child has learning disabilities.

Since technology has allowed for the enhancement of learning, testing for learning disabilities is now done using the child’s IQ measurement (Mirza Nisar & Ikram 2017).Research:

The current research concerning learning disabilities is based around a diagnostic procedure, which is also a treatment called the response to intrusion.

Researchers suggest that this process will reveal the student’s performance and initiate the treatment without waiting to determine when they are able to meet the criteria.

Gaddis 2013, says that people with learning disabilities tend to be silent about their condition and are not easily detected in daily life.

This is due to their invisibility and unspoken attitudes that often lead them to stay in hospitals.

The reason why people with learning disabilities were kept from the public and their histories was that they would be less popular. Also, if a girl in a family had a learning disability, it was considered more shameful according to society norms (Chandrasekara Wijesundera und Perera 2016).

People with learning disabilities, in society, are usually viewed as people who constantly need support and care. They can no longer perform any activities on their own.

When telling stories to others about learning disabilities, the people with learning difficulties are used as an example for the rest of society.

People with learning disabilities also desire to communicate like other people.

Present State

There has been a revival in the encouragement of people with learning disabilities. They have begun to open up to other people, share their experiences, and can even explain themselves without the assistance of a facilitator at times (Ceci 2013,).

A person with learning disability has the potential to do great things. They can be proud of themselves and help others achieve what is difficult, academically or in other areas.

Many people with learning disabilities have difficulties expressing their thoughts or using words correctly.Implementation:

Disability is not an excuse to exclude someone from social areas or make them feel isolated from others. Lovett and Sparks (2013).

They do not deserve to feel abnormal.

Even though the families behave badly with their child with learning disabilities, it is not their fault.

Many of the students see the disabled child as a joke and ask their parents to change schools and move them to a school specifically for them. They are considered not eligible to be educated at normal schools and will cause damage to the school’s reputation.

Learning disabled people need self-advocacy to help them understand their relationships and develop sense in the world (Lovett, Sparks 2013).

Learning Disabilities Sri Lanka

Nearly 11% suffer from learning disabilities in Sri Lanka and require special guidance.

These students comprise 96% who don’t go to school and 0.4% who attend school but express fear or have their actions and expressions distorted (Reid Lienemann and Hagaman, 2013).

The lack of information and support for students with learning disabilities in Sri Lanka means that many cases are not correctly diagnosed.

In Sri Lanka, parents often provide a fanatical education to their children.

Any child can have a learning disability that affects their brain and senses.

Sri Lankan students with reading difficulties account for approximately 80%. The problem must be well managed so that the child doesn’t have low self-esteem.Role Of Sri Lankan Constitution:

Sri Lanka’s Constitution has recently amended a law which outlined the fundamental rights of people with learning disabilities.

Family members often are forbidden to tell their loved ones that they have a person with learning disabilities.

The country does not have the resources to offer services that are cooperative to all people with learning disabilities.

The foundations or schools that treat children with LD have the option of specialized schools.

There are ten schools for LD students located in Sri Lanka. The problem with these schools is the lack of qualified teachers who can work together and educate students with LD (Peiris John et al. 2014).

Sri Lanka does not have a complete record of students with disabilities. Therefore, the country is unable provide fundamental rights for persons with LD.

This is a problem that reduces the possibilities and speeds for LD people and does not make them more accessible to society.

Students with LD are not accepted into regular schools.

Role of Parents

The most important role of parents in the lives the children with learning difficulties is the one that they play.

The student is not responsible for the learning disability. Neither should they be considered sick. Parents must accept the disability as a challenge, and show patience with their child.

They must encourage their child, treat them with dignity and respect them as they would.

The main concern is to not only know the needs of the child with learning impairment but also to assess the effect on the family when society fails to accept and treat the child equally with the rest of the family.

Sri Lankan parents often avoid talking about their child with learning difficulties in schools or elsewhere. This gives the society greater authority to treat them with a negative outlook.

The responsibility of providing a child with a safe place to rest and feel at ease is on the shoulders of the parents. This will allow them to participate in society.

A superstition states that the child may have a learning disability because of their negative attitude to another person or the actions of students.

Because special schooling is not available until the age 14 for children, parents are concerned that their child will lose their education and face many problems in the future. (Meppelder Hodes, Schuengel 2015).

Role of teachers:

Teachers at school are well-respected and have lots of experience. Secondary teachers can help children with LD become social and finish their education with cooperation.Role Of A Psychologist:

Because they have a special understanding of the student’s disability, and their mental state, a psychologist can help them better than anyone.

Role Of Universities & Foundations

Professors at universities can give students background and understanding about the child’s condition. While there aren’t many foundations that will help students with learning disabilities, there are many foundations that can assist them.

People with learning disabilities require a good understanding environment and a cooperative environment. When they are uncomfortable in this environment they leave school and go home. No one will find them laughing and they will lock themselves in their own house.

Learning disability people are afraid of being laughed at and rejected by the people around them.

They can only achieve success in their lives if they are able to get the cooperation and bonding of others.

People face great difficulties in life. They need to seek out the correct cooperation that will allow them to become a part society (Cowan, Powell 2014).Conclusion:

As a conclusion, it can be stated that individuals with learning abilities will adapt to their environment once they find a supportive environment in school.

Because school is the cornerstone of everyone’s existence, it determines their future. Therefore, individuals with learning disabilities also need education in order to succeed academically.

A student with learning disability would like to attend the same school as someone without a disability. They want the same opportunities and education, and they also want to be treated the same way as anyone else.
